Sayonara Sugar!

Ladies and gents, this time it is for real. I am saying, "So long!" to sugar. Fructose to be more exact. For 8 weeks to be even more exact. I have wanted to try such an experiment for a LOOOONG time. But, am I the only one who feels like a great, big fat portion of my happiness is directly connected to the next soonest moment that I can eat something sweet and delicious?! It is HARD to even tell myself that I will not be eating sugar. My whole self immediately protests! Which is probably the number one reason why I finally convinced myself that this needed to happen!!

This cute lady has gotten me really excited about the prospect of what life un-sugared could be like:

Why quit sugar? My list is as follows:
  • Get healthy habits for baby number 2!
  • Lose weight AND find a steady, healthy weight.
  • Ditch the crazy mood swings.
  • Ditch the mid day slumps.
  • Gain control over cravings and portions.
  • I have felt strongly that this will help me with my depression!!
I started May 12th and will continue this process until July 7th. This blog has been started in efforts to have a way to publicly hold myself accountable. I have failed sugar-free attempts one to many times. Please, join with me! Let's all strive towards a healthier relationship with sugar! If you are the kind of person who CAN stop at just one cookie. . . any advice and encouragement is very much welcomed! And in 8 weeks you will see a transformation something like this:
Before

After
Or something like that. :)

  5. Shari bo bari bonanna fanna fo fari! I'm doing a Whole30 starting exactly on your start date too! I love it! Do you know about it? It's no sugar, no grains, no legumes, no dairy, no processed crap, no alcohol.... all the everything. Basically meat, seafood, fruit and veggies is all I'm eating for at LEAST the next 30 days, I'm thinking I'll do sixty though. Lots of reasons, but mostly sugar addiction and I want to reset my body and change my relationship with food. Dude, you must read this book, at least the chapter on sugar, because I think it really helps to know what you're up against biologically, which they totally explain in ways you can understand, it's so awesome. I'm sure that this Sara Wilson chic has covered all this though. I'm super stoked for you! I've had a withdrawal headache for three days, but I'm even stoked for myself too! Text me any time you need a little kick in the pants! Love you!
